Three robbers, including an auto-rickshaw driver, were detained by an army patrol team while attempting to rob vehicles on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in the Sreepur Municipal, Gazipur.
Sreepur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC), Zainal Abedin Mondal confirmed the matter.
The three robbers were apprehended at 2am on Saturday. They were handed over to the Sreepur police on the same night.
The detainees are Yusuf, 17, Shanto, 16, and Hiron Mia, 28, an auto-rickshaw driver from Neraiderchala village, Sreepur, Gazipur.
Sreepur Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Zainal Abedin Mondal, said: "The army patrol team detained the three robbers while they were preparing to commit robbery on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway. The suspects were then handed over to the police, and legal action will be taken. They will be presented in Gazipur court later on Saturday."
