Actor Azizur Rahman Azad has been injured by gunfire from unidentified attackers at his home in Ashulia.
Azad, 34, was admitted to Ship International Hospital in Uttara, Dhaka, following the shooting on Sunday morning.
Locals reported that around 3:30am, a group raided the actor’s house in the Zirabo area.
Azad said he woke up to the sound of a grill being cut. When he realized the presence of intruders, they fired three rounds at him.
While trying to protect him, his wife Roksana Haque, 33, and mother Azizunnahar, 65, were injured in the attack.
Later, locals rescued the wounded actor and took him to the hospital.
Dr Kamruzzaman of Ship International Hospital said three bullets had hit the actor’s body. However, he is now out of danger.
When contacted, Ashulia police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Nure Alam Siddique said he was aware of the incident.
However, the actor’s family has not yet filed a case.
