The injured is Md Zahid, 25, a garment worker, of Lakmipura village under Raipura police station in Narsingdi. He was residing in Gendaria's Glass Factory area.

The attackers fled with his mobile phone and wallet after opening fire.

The incident occurred around 11:30pm. Passers-by rescued Zahid and rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) for treatment.

Despite multiple attempts, Jatrabari police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kamruzzaman Talukder could not be reached for comment.

However, Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, confirmed that a gunshot victim from Jatrabari was admitted and is undergoing treatment.

Police officials stated that law enforcement is actively investigating the incident. CCTV footage is being reviewed, and a drive is underway to track down the perpetrators.
