An 11-member fact-finding committee has been established to investigate allegations of corruption and irregularities over the past decade at the National University under the previous government.
Professor Dr ASM Amanullah, Vice-Chancellor of the National University, will serve as an adviser to the committee, which was formed following the decision of the 263rd meeting of the university's syndicate on November 3.
According to Acting Director of Public Relations Mostafizur Rahman, allegations of significant financial and administrative corruption have emerged at the university, covering procurement, infrastructure projects, rental agreements, vehicle usage, and publication activities from July 2012 to July 2024.
The committee aims to thoroughly investigate any financial and administrative irregularities within this period.
Led by Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Lutfor Rahman as its convener, the committee includes several distinguished members including, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Nurul Islam, Treasurer Dr ATM Zafrul Azam and Professor Dr Kamrul Hassan from Dhaka University’s Physics Department, among others.
This committee will determine whether any financial or administrative misconduct occurred and will ensure adherence to university laws, regulations, and government policies.
