A 15-year old girl has reportedly been gang-raped in Chittagong.
The girl came to the Chittagong city from Comilla along with his male friend. As night fell they lost their way. The girl was gang-raped by tying up her friend after they asked for help.
The incident took place at Pahartali Railway Station and South Khulshi area of the city on Monday night.
The rape victim is currently undergoing treatment at the one-stop crisis centre of Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
In this incident, the police arrested a driver of the battery-run autorickshaw named Abul Kalam.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Khulshi police station Mujibur Rahman said that the girl who came from Comilla to Chittagong with a friend was cheated and raped.
An accused has been arrested for his alleged involvement in the incident.
An operation is underway to arrest others. Police is preparing to file case in this incident, said the OC.
The police said that the rape survivor’s house is in Comilla. Her mother is mentally unstable and has no father. She met a 20-year-old man from Madrasapura over the phone six months ago. She came to Chittagong with that friend.
The girl's friend said that they both left Comilla at around 3pm and got down at Pahartali railway station in Chittagong around 7:30pm.
Due to not knowing the way, they came from Pahartali to Jhautla railway station. Seeing them there, a young man came and took them to one side, telling them to know the way. There were four of them. Later, the group took away his mobile phone and asked him to leave.
At one point in fear, they both left the railway station and started looking for a way to go home.
Around 8:30pm, a battery-run autorickshaw driver came and asked them to about their destination.
When they narrated all the incidents, the driver picked them up in the vehicle telling them to take them to Battali railway station.
Around 10:30pm, the driver took them to an abandoned house in South Khulshi area of the city. As it was night, they would not get a train to Comilla, so he asked to stay there for the night.
At one point three more people came there. The girl's friend was locked in a nearby room by four people who raped the girl. They were kicked out after a few hours. While standing on the road hoping for help, another battery-run rickshaw driver comes and asks for details.
The driver took them back there, claiming that those involved in the incident would be brought to justice. Later, he called another person and raped the girl again.
On hearing the news, some local students rescued them and took them to the police station.
