4 suspected robbers lynched in Narayanganj

At least four suspected robbers were beaten to death, and another injured, by villagers in Narayanganj's Sonargaon upazila. 

The incident took place at Baghari village in Kanchpur union of the upazila around 1:30am on Monday. 

Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Chailau Marma and Additional Superintendent of Police (B Circle) Sheikh Billal Hossain confirmed the matter.

One of the deceased was identified as Zakir Hossain. The identity of the rest is not known.

The injured person is being treated at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.

Police said a group of at least 10 people were allegedly lurking around the village when locals spotted them. Later, a local mosque declared that they were robbers and the villagers attacked the group. 
When police arrived at the spot, they found three of them dead, and two others unconscious on the ground. The other members of the group managed to flee. 

The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), where doctors declared one of them, Zakir Hossain, dead. 

Narayanganj Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Chailau Marma said an investigation is underway in this regard.
