Popular social media personality Ashraful Hossen Alom, better known as Hero Alom, has received a death threat through WhatsApp.
Hero Alom confirmed the matter on Friday evening.
A miscreant made the threat on his WhatsApp ID at 3:20am. “I am outside Dhaka now and I will file a GD after returning to Dhaka,” said Hero Alom.
The miscreant threatened to shoot him openly, according to the threat message.
Hero Alom contested as a candidate of Bangladesh Congress from Bogra-6 constituency in the 12th national parliamentary election held on January 7.
In the by-election of the Bogura-4 constituency held last year, Hero Alom was defeated by AKM Rezaul Karim Tansen of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), receiving only 834 votes.
Hero Alom previously ran for MP from the Bogra-4 (Kahalu-Nandigram) constituency as an independent candidate in the 11th national election, but was defeated.
