Ashraful Hossen Alom, popularly known as Hero Alom, has gone to the Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) office to file a complaint over him being chased out of Amar Ekushey book fair.

Hero Alom went to the DB office with a written complaint on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier on Wednesday, more than 100 visitors chased Hero Alom out of the book fair.

"No one has the right to throw a person out of any place. I was insulted by the incident at the book fair. That's why I came to the DB office,” he said.

Earlier on February 9, Mushtaq went to promote his book with his wife at the book fair at Suhrawardy Udyan. At one point, the couple faced the wrath of readers, buyers and visitors. They were forced to leave the book fair premises.

After the incident, the couple went to the DB office on the evening of February 12 seeking their safety. They met DMP Additional Commissioner (Detective Branch) Mohammad Harun-your-Rashid and appealed for their safety.

Earlier on February 9, Khandaker Mustaque Ahmed, a former donor member of the Management Committee of Dhaka’s famed Ideal School and College, and his wife Tisha were also chased out of the book fair by visitors.

After the incident, the couple went to the DB office on the evening of February 12 seeking their safety.
