A video circulating on social media shows a group of special police forces marching in Rajbari district, wearing red t-shirts and black sunglasses while carrying heavy weapons.
The incident occurred on November 23 (Thursday) when a special patrol was organized from the office of the superintendent of police.
Key officials from Rajbari police were observed leading the team during the patrol on the town's main roads.
When questioned about the deployment, GM Abul Kalam Azad, the superintendent of police in Rajbari district, informed Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday: "Ahead of the 12th parliamentary election, we have formed a special team with our best officers who will act as a quick response team to address any potential violence."
"This is a dedicated team that will promptly respond to violence. Two teams have been formed, each consisting of 15 members," added the Rajbari SP.
