Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni has said friendly countries can have different views on Bangladesh's internal issues, but the government is not making a big deal of recent comments by visiting diplomats.

“But I do not see any difference remarks: everyone is speaking in favour of fair and neutral polls [in Bangladesh,” Dipu Moni, who is also a joint general secretary of the ruling Awami League, said in response to questions from journalists after the inauguration of a tree fair at Chandpur Hasan Ali High School on Friday.

On the upcoming general election, the minister said: “There is no uncertainty about our election. Each country holds elections in line with its own laws. For those visiting us here, it is the same in their country. We have a constitution and all arrangements for fair elections. There will be a free and fair election in due time, in accordance with the rules and regulations.”

Regarding the improvement of the quality of education, she said: "In the next two to three years, the development of the education system at the primary and secondary levels will be visible.”

“Students are learning in the new curriculum; there has been a big change, which is already visible right now.”
