Gas supply will improve in two days, but it will take 10-12 days to return to normal, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resource Nasrul Hamid has said.
“We are hoping that load shedding situation will also improve as well. Supply from two deep-sea LNG terminals was suspended. One of these will be launched within two days,” he said at a press briefing at the Secretariat on Sunday.
As the pipeline is damaged, it will take time to start the other one. That is why it will take time for the gas supply to be completely normal, the state minister added.
The government on Friday decided to suspend gas supply from two floating LNG terminals in Moheshkhali due to the incoming Cyclone Mocha.
Gas-powered power plants in Chittagong, Meghnaghat, Haripur, and Siddhirganj areas were closed.
