A madrasa teacher was arrested for molesting a child in the Kotwali police station area of Chittagong city.
The arrestee was identified as Md Zobair Hossain, 28. He was the headteacher of Hefzul Qur'an Residential Noorani Madrasa.
The rape survivor is a student of Hifjul Quran Residential Noorani Madrasa in Zainab Colony in Dewan Bazar area of Kotwali Police Station of Chittagong.
Zobair was arrested from the Zainab Colony area on Wednesday at 12:40pm, said Zahedul Kabir, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kotwali Police Station.
On November 11 at 5pm, the teacher took the child inside the room and sexually assaulted him. Later, the child's family filed a report to the Kotwali police station.
During the primary interrogation, Zobair admitted the truth of the incident, the OC added.
