Locals in Moulvibazar on Thursday turned over four Indian nationals along with guns to the police after detaining them in the Baghachhara tea garden area of the district's Kamalganj upazila.
Later, a team of the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) took the detainees into its custody.
The detainees are Satindra Riang, 21, Niranj Riang, 28, Samrat Riang, 21, and Sumiran Riang, 31.
Arifur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Kamalganj police station, confirmed the matter.
He said that four Indian nationals had illegally entered Bangladesh through the Kamalganj border. They told the police that they had entered the tea garden area to catch wild boar.
Six single-barrelled guns and 10 rounds of bullets were seized from the Indian citizens.
