Detective Branch police have arrested a man with 1,300 Yaba tablets during a special anti-drug operation at Ashulia in Savar upazila on Saturday.
Police said the arrest was made around 1:30 am from the Bishmile Bus Stand area of the upazila, acting on confidential information.
The information was confirmed in a message sent via WhatsApp around noon by DB (North) Officer-in-Charge (OC) Saidul Islam.
The arrested has been identified as Mofazzal Hossain, 33, also known as Sagar, son of Kamal Uddin. He is a resident of the Shandip area under Ashulia Police Station.
According to DB sources, a raid was conducted following a tip-off, leading to his detention. During the operation, police recovered 1,300 Yaba tablets from his possession. The seized drugs weigh approximately 130 grams and have an estimated market value of Tk 390,000.
A case has been filed against him under the Narcotics Control Act with Ashulia Police Station, and he has been sent to court.
