A Dhaka University student has allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Tangail.
Pritam Kumar Singh, 21, hails from Kumar Singha municipality of the district
Family members said that Pritam consumed ammonium sulfate over failure in love affair on Sunday night. He was rushed upazila health complex where doctors referred him to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. Pritam died on the way to the hospital, they said.
Officer-in-Charge of Modhupur police station, Murad Hossain, said that he had heard of the matter and that no one had filed a case with them in this regard.
