Train communications between Sylhet and the rest of the country remained suspended for after at least four hours on Saturday.
Rail links with the northeastern city snapped after a freight train derailed in Moulvibazar.
Wheels of one of the oil-tankers of went off the tracks near Bhatera Bazar at the district's Kulaura upazila around 2pm, said Station Master Muhibur Rahman of the Kulaira Rail Station.
But no oil spilled from the wagon, he added.
Railway communication resumed around 6pm after a salvage train cleared the tracks, said Station Master Rahman.
On February 5, rail communication between Sylhet and the rest of the country was suspended for 27 hours after a train derailed in Fenchuganj upazila of Sylhet.
