Three more children died with measles-like symptoms in Sylhet division in the past 24 hours until 8am on Sunday.
The Sylhet divisional office of the Directorate General of Health Services reported on Sunday morning that the deaths occurred at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital between Saturday morning and 8am Sunday.
The deceased were Arab, six-month-old son of Bilal Ahmed from Companiganj upazila in Sylhet, Iba Akter, 14-month-old daughter of Saidul Alam from Dirai upazila in Sunamganj, and Rayan, 10-month-old son of Jannat Mia from Jagannathpur upazila in the same district.
With the latest deaths, the number of children who have died with measles-like symptoms in Sylhet division has reached 190. Of them, 78 were from Sylhet, 28 from Habiganj, 15 from Moulvibazar and 69 from Sunamganj.
Meanwhile, a total of 130 patients with measles-like symptoms were admitted to hospitals across the division in the 24 hours until 8am on Sunday.
A total of 515 patients with such symptoms are currently receiving treatment at hospitals across Sylhet division.
