Ekabbar Hossain, a member of parliament from Tangail 7 (Mirzapur) constituency and a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, has been infected with the new coronavirus (Covid-19).
Ekabbar's Covid-19 test result came back as positive Wednesday night, confirmed his son Tahrim Hossain Simanta.
Earlier on Monday, his wife Jharna Hossain had also tested positive for Covid-19.
Ekabbar Hossain and his wife Jharna Hossain, on account of having high fever and shortness of breath, have been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital
Ekabbar Hossain is the second member of the parliament in the district to be infected with the virus.
