At least 13 people died with symptoms similar to Covid-19 symptoms in five districts between Saturday and Sunday.
In Comilla, at least 5 people including a woman suffering from fever, cough, cold and respiratory problems, died undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of Comilla Medical College Hospital.
Dr Sajeda Khatun, assistant director of the hospital, confirmed the matter.
The deceased were identified as Abdul Halim, 68, of Nangalkot upazila, Nurjahan,80, of Burichang upazila, Mossaraf Hossain,53, of Brahmanpara upazila, and Nurruzaman, 88, from Burichang upazila in Comilla, and Tipu Sultan,46, from Sharasti upazila of Chandpur.
3,886 covid-19 cases have been reported in the district so far, including 106 deaths, according to the district Civil Surgeon’s Office.
In Satkhira, at least three people suffering from cough, cold and fever died undergoing treatment at Satkhira Medical College Hospital, said Dr Rafiqul Islam, director of the hospital.
The deceased were identified as Kohinur Begum,50, of Debhata upazila, Rahatullah,95, from the town, and Amena Khatun from Kalaroa upazila of the district.
In Khulna, two people named Mossaraf Hossain, 75 and Kamrul Hasan, 70 died while undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of Khulna Medical College Hospital (KMCH).
Another Al Mamun,35, died hours after he was admitted to Rupsa Upazila Health Complex.
In Magura, a 75 year old man suffering from fever and respiratory problems died at his home in Chopdar para of Magura municipality .
The deceased was identified as Shafi Uddin Chopdar, said Zillur Rahman, of the district Civil Surgeon’s Office.
In Dinajpur, Ferdous Jahangir Manik, general secretary of the district football association died while he was being taken to M Abdur Rahim Medical College. He had been suffering from fever and shortness of breath for a few days, said Golam Nabi Dulal, president of the association.
