At least two children fell into the river and went missing when a battery-run autorickshaw that they were travelling on tilted to one side of a broken bailey bridge in Nilphamari.
The incident took place on Bhanga bridge in Gomnati union of Domar upazila at around 1pm on Friday.
The missing, identified as Monoar Hossain, 6, son of Md Suruzzaman and Moni Akhtar, 5, daughter of Golam Rabbani were from Jorabari village of the upazila.
Confirming the matter, Domar Fire Service and Civil Defence In-charge Farhad Hossain, said divers are currently conducting a search operation in the river.
