Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing has tested positive for Covid-19, the virus that has so far killed over 800 people in Bangladesh.
Cox's Bazar Medical College Principal Dr Anupom Barua confirmed the matter on Saturday night.
Regarding the matter, Bandarban civil surgeon Dr Aung Swi Prue Marma said: "Minister Bir Bahadur Ushwe Sing is doing well."
The minister would be flown by helicopter to Dhaka on Sunday for advanced medical treatment, he said.
