Two people tested positive for coronavirus in Chittagong and Sylhet.
In Chittagong, Confirming the matter to Dhaka Tribune, Dr Hasan Shahriar Kabir, Director of Health (Chittagong Division) said the infected person is the son of the first coronavirus patient in Chittagong.
“The 25 year old man is now in home quarantine in his Dampara residence in the city. His sample was tested at the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases (BITID) on Sunday. So far, he has not developed any complications. We will take necessary steps if his condition deteriorates,” said Dr Kabir.
Previously on Friday, a 67 year old man tested positive for coronavirus making him the first confirmed case of the virus in Chittagong.
The elderly man is now undergoing treatment in isolation at Chittagong General Hospital.
In Sylhet, a person tested positive for coronavirus for the first time.
The infected person is a doctor in his fifties. He is currently in home quarantine and his house is currently under lockdown, said Sylhet Civil Surgeon Dr Premananda Mondal.
The man is one of the 18 who were tested positive of the virus on Sunday, according to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research, said Anisur Rahman, assistant director of Sylhet division Directorate General of Health Services.
