A man has tested coronavirus positive in Rajshahi.
16 hospital staff, including five doctors and eight nurses of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH), were sent to home quarantine as they were exposed to the patient.
Dr Abdul Wadud, assistant director of the hospital, said the patient was initially admitted at their hospital with breathing problems, fever, and chest pain. “He tested positive with coronavirus infection. Sixteen of our staff were sent to home quarantine as they came into contact with him.”
Bogra Civil Surgeon Dr Gausul Azim Choudhury said: “Samples from the patient were sent to the Institute of Epidemiology Disease Control And Research so that the report could be further confirmed. A medical team of IEDCR will also come into the isolation unit of Bogra to further examine him. Samples from his wife were also sent for tests.”
Sources said the infected man is a labourer hailing from Rangpur. He was forced out of a truck at a bus stand in Bogra when he was on his way to Rangpur from Dhaka.
