Gas cylinder explosion kills one in Comilla filling station

The incident took place Monday morning at River View Filling Station on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Sadar Dakkhin upazila

A gas cylinder of a bus exploded at a filling station killing one of its employees at Sadar Dakkhin upazila in Comilla.

The deceased is Khorshed Alam.

Six people, including four staffers of the filling station, were also injured in the blast.

The incident took place at River View Filling Station on Dhaka-Chittagong Highway in Paduar Bazar Bishwa Road area around 11am on Monday, said Anjan Kumar Saha, sub-inspector of Sadar Dakkhin police station.

The blast occurred as soon as gas connection was linked to the cylinder of a bus of Jamuna Service, he said.

Seven people including Khorshed were injured, and taken to Comilla Medical College and Hospital.

Later, Khorshed was sent to Dhaka for better treatment, but he died on the way. 

No complaint was filed in this connection, the police official added.
