Seven people have been injured by two mob beatings on suspicion of child-abducting in two districts.
In Naogaon, an angry mob beat up six people at Buridaha village of Manda upazila after they were suspected of child-abducting on Sunday morning.
Police said the six were fishermen by profession. Details of their identity could not be known immediately.
Manda police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mozaffar Hossain said they were catching fish at a pond in the village.
Locals caught and beat them, suspecting they had come to the village in a bid to abduct children, he said.

‘Refrain from mob justice’
Meanwhile, a press release from Bangladesh Police on July 20 stated, regarding the spreading earlier in the month of rumour on Facebook that “human heads and blood are required to build the Padma Bridge”, that there is a high amount of surveillance throughout the country.
The press release signed by Assistant Inspector General of Police Headquarters (media) Sohel Rana said: “Spreading rumours is leading to unrest in the country, and mob killing is a criminal offence.”
The cases related to mob killings will be investigated diligently by the police, and people involved in such mob violence will be brought to justice.
The Bangladesh Police has further requested all citizens of the country to not spread rumours, and refrain from doling out mob justice.
