“We have minimized the gap created between us centring on the incident, considering that administrative affairs and the provision of public services are not hampered,” Salahuddin told the Dhaka Tribune. On December 4, the duo got into a scuffle over entry into the schoolyard of Kakoli Shishu School, which is run by the District Administration, in the town. Salahuddin and Murshidul had gone to the school to pick up their grandson and son respectively. Later, a mobile court led by Lakshmipur Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Nuruzzaman sentenced Salahuddin to jail for three months.

ADC Murshidul, who was later made an "officer on special duty" (OSD), said the incident took place as they did not know each other before. He  said: “We got to know each other only when the situation worsened. But, by the time, the incident went out of our control, which is why we could not restrain ourselves. "However, we have now forgotten everything that happened between both of us.”
