Bangladesh reported two deaths from Covid-19 with 36 new cases in the 24 hours till 8am on Monday.
The country last logged deaths from Covid on April 11.
According to the latest figures released by the health authorities, the overall caseload in the country now stands at 1,952,363 and fatalities at 29,126.
A total of 5,454 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 0.67% at the same time.
On Sunday, the country reported 51 new infections with zero deaths.
Another 355 people recovered from Covid-19 across the country during the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery to 1,891,197.
The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.87% and the mortality rate at 1.49%.
The deaths were recorded in Dhaka and Sylhet divisions. Both the deceased were female.
In March, the country reported 85 deaths and 8,000 new Covid cases while 66,639 patients recovered from the disease, according to DGHS.
Among the 85 deaths during the period, 44 were unvaccinated patients, 11 were vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid vaccine, 28 with the second dose and two with the third dose.
The country reported its first zero deaths in a single day on November 20 last year, along with 178 infections, since the pandemic broke out in Bangladesh in March 2020.
On January 28, Bangladesh logged its previous highest daily positivity rate at 33.37% reporting 15,440 cases and 20 deaths.
Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.
