Covid-19: Bangladesh logs three deaths, 82 fresh cases in a day

Case positivity rate recorded at 0.90%

Bangladesh logged three deaths from Covid-19 and 82 fresh cashes in the 24 hours till 8am on Sunday morning. 

The case positivity rate was recorded at 0.90% during the same period with 9,068 samples being tested, according to the Directorate General of Health Services. 

The country recorded 62 coronavirus infections on Saturday morning with zero deaths. 

With the latest numbers the country’s total fatalities now stands at 29,117 and cases at 19,50,609.

Of the deaths, one each was recorded in Dhaka, Khulna and Mymensingh divisions. 

Of them, two were male and the other deceased was a female. 

The recovery rate rose to 95.89% with the recovery of 837 more patients during the 24-hour period.

On Tuesday, the country logged zero deaths from coronavirus after more than three months. 

On March 15, Bangladesh logged zero Covid-related deaths after more than three months amid signs that the pandemic is easing with a declining positivity rate.

However, on January 28, Bangladesh logged its earlier highest daily positivity rate at 33.37% reporting 15,440 cases and 20 deaths.

Besides, the country registered the highest daily caseload of 16,230 on July 28 last year, while the highest number of daily fatalities was 264 on August 10 last year.
