Bangladesh reported zero deaths from the coronavirus on Monday, with 27 new cases logged in the 24 hours to 8am.
According to the latest figures released by the health directorate, the overall caseload in the country now stands at 1,952,583 while fatalities stand at 29,127.
A total of 6,348 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 0.43%.
Another 299 people recovered from Covid-19 across the country taking the total recovery to 1,893,759.
The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.99% and the mortality rate at 1.49%.
On Sunday, Bangladesh reported zero deaths with 24 new Covid-19 cases.
Of the infections, the highest 20 were detected in Dhaka.
The overall number of Covid cases globally surged past 509 million as of Monday.
According to Johns Hopkins University (JHU), the total case count mounted to 509,518,136 while the death toll from the virus reached 6,217,886 as Monday morning.
The US has recorded 80,984,914 cases so far and 991,254 people have died from the virus in the country, the university data shows.
India's tally rose to 43,057,545 on Sunday after 2,593 new cases were registered during the past 24 hours across the South Asian country, showed the federal health ministry's latest data.
Meanwhile, the World Health Organization (WHO) said that the number of reported new Covid-19 cases worldwide decreased by nearly a quarter last week, continuing a decline since the end of March.
