Bangladesh has reported no deaths from the coronavirus on Saturday, with 51 new cases logged in the 24 hours to 8am.
According to latest figures released by the health directorate, the overall caseload in the country now stands at 1,952,275 while fatalities at 29,124.
A total of 3,994 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 1.28%.
Another 252 people recovered from Covid-19 across the country taking the total recovery to 1,890,516.
The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.8% and the mortality rate at 1.49%.
Globally, the overall number of coronavirus cases has now crossed 501 million amid a rise in new infections in parts of the world.
The US is trudging into what could be another surge, with cases rising nationally and in most states after a two-month decline, reports AP.
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
