Bangladesh sees zero Covid deaths, 92 infections in a day

Test positivity rate drops to 0.76%

No deaths from the coronavirus were reported on Thursday with 92 new infections recorded in the 24 hours to 8am. 

According to latest figures released by the health authorities, the overall caseload in Bangladesh now stands at 1,951,072 while fatalities at 29, 118.

As many as 12,11 samples were tested across the country, for a positivity rate of 0.76%.

A total of 1,114 people recovered from Covid-19 in the meantime taking the total recovery to 1,874,880. 

The latest figures put the recovery rate at 96.09% and the mortality rate at 1.49%.

Globally, over 475.48 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and 6.2 million have died, according to a tally by Johns Hopkins University.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.
