Thirty-five lower court judges have made recovery from the Covid-19 infection across Bangladesh so far.
According to the latest update, sent out by the Covid-19 monitoring desk at the Ministry of Law on Friday morning, as many as 268 sub-ordinate court officials have been diagnosed with Covid-19, as of 10 pm on Thursday.
Of them, 51 are judges and 217 are court employees.
Among the judges, Judge Ferdous Ahmed of Lalmonirhat Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal succumbed to the disease on June 24, while undergoing treatment at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.
Among the 217 employees, 83 have recovered from the disease.
Since the first cases of Covid-19, the global pandemic that has killed more than 500,000 people over the last six months, were detected in Bangladesh on March 8, the country has recorded 178, 443 confirmed cases, of whom 2,275 have died.
