The test-positivity rate for Covid-19 between Tuesday and Wednesday was 21.07%, continuing with the trend of one in every five samples testing positive, which has been the case for a while now.
A total of 17,245 samples were collected between Tuesday and Wednesday, of which 16,433 were tested in 66 labs across Bangladesh, Prof Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), said on Wednesday during the daily Covid-19 bulletin.
With 3,462 of the tests coming back positive, the detection rate of new patients in the last 24 hours stood at 21.07%, she added.
Till date, 660,444 tests have been conducted across the country, she said.
Bangladesh also recorded 37 new deaths between Tuesday and Wednesday.
The death toll due to Covid-19 now stands at 1,582, and the total number of confirmed cases at 122,660 till Wednesday.
