Seven more people including a doctor of a private hospital and an upazila nirbahi officer (UNO), have tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) in Tangail, taking the total number of infections to 283 in the district.
Of the seven newly tested positives on Friday, two are from Sadar upazila, two from Madhupur, one in Dhanbari, one in Sakhipur and one in Mirzapur, confirmed Tangail Civil Surgeon Dr Md Wahidujjaman.
Samples of 96 people were sent to Dhaka for a test on June 6, whose reports came positive on Friday.
As of now, six people have died due to the virus and 78 have recovered in the district, said Dr Md Wahidujjaman.
