A medical doctor and three nurses were sent to home quarantine after they treated a Covid-19 pregnant woman at Sunamganj Sadar Hospital on Monday.
Dr Shams Uddin, Sunamganj district Civil Surgeon, said the woman was admitted to the sadar hospital on April 8 after her samples were collected and sent to Sylhet for test, reports UNB.
The physician and three nurses who had treated the woman were sent to home quarantine after results of the test came positive in the morning, he said.
"We've collected samples from the doctor and nurses and sent them for tests," he added.
The woman's husband had returned from Narayanganj a few days back and she concealed the information from the healthcare providers, Dr Shams added.
Dr Rafikul Islam, resident medical officer of the sadar hospital, said they were also collecting samples from others who had come into contact with the doctor and nurses.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh on Sunday recorded the highest number of Covid-19 cases in one day as 139 more people tested positive for the virus, raising the total number to 803.
Besides, four more people died from the coronavirus during the period which has raised the total death toll to 39 in Bangladesh while the global death toll from the coronavirus has reached 114,247 on Monday.
