A doctor in Dhaka has died after showing Covid-19 symptoms like fever, cough, and breathing problems.
Dental surgeon Ferdous Rahman, died on Sunday in his own home, confirmed Bangladesh Doctors' Foundation Vice Chairman, Fazle Elahi Khan.
The deceased’s friends said Ferdous was suffering from fever for the last one week and the coughing and throat pain started some time later.
The fever went down afterwards but he started having trouble breathing, along with a cough and throat pain, they added.
He did not get himself tested for coronavirus infection even though his family urged him to do so, and remained isolated at home.
Ferdous’ friend Atikur Rahman said he died on Sunday after his condition worsened severely.
Ferdous saw patients at his Azimpur chamber and could have contracted the virus there, remarked Atikur.
Kurmitola General Hospital authorities have taken samples from Ferdous to check whether he was infected with coronavirus or not.
