The Ministry of Home Affairs has declared that creating unrest in the garment industry under the pretext of unjust and irrational demands, blocking traffic through obstructions and engaging in anarchy and violence will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
In an official statement issued on Thursday afternoon, Faisal Hasan, director (Public Relations) of the ministry, conveyed this information.
The statement highlighted that the government, with the support of law enforcement agencies, will take strict measures to counter any disorderly activities.
To ensure a stable and secure environment in garment and other industrial sectors, as well as to maintain overall law and order in the country, the government seeks the cooperation of both factory owners and workers.
This statement was issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs with the objective of upholding a conducive and safe atmosphere in garment and other industrial establishments while preserving national law and order.
Furthermore, the statement reiterated the government's firm commitment to addressing workers' legitimate demands, including their due wages and benefits.
The government is actively working to implement these rightful claims, with continuous efforts in this regard.
Necessary directives have already been given to factory owners and the BGMEA, and their activities are being closely monitored, the ministry said.
