Bangladesh contributes $1M to Nepal disaster relief fund

The contribution will support relief, recovery and humanitarian efforts following floods and mudslides in northern Nepal

Bangladesh government has contributed $1M to the government of Nepal prime minister’s disaster relief fund to support ongoing relief, recovery and humanitarian efforts following floods and landslides in northern Nepal.

State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir handed over the contribution to Nepal Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari at State Guest House Padma on Wednesday.

Kobir conveyed a letter from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman addressed to Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

Earlier, on September 1, 2026, Kobir signed the condolence book opened at the Embassy of Nepal in Dhaka.

The Bangladesh National Parliament also adopted a condolence motion on August 27, 2026, following the tragedy in Nepal.
