Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, a newly appointed adviser in the interim government, has emphasized his openness to constructive criticism.
“If I make any mistakes, I hope you will point them out, and I will gladly accept any constructive criticism,” Farooki said shortly after he took his oath of office at Bangabhaban on Sunday evening.
Reflecting on his appointment, the filmmaker said: “This is quite an unexpected experience for me. I never imagined I would hold any position or sit in an official chair. However, working alongside Prof Yunus is very tempting, making it hard to say no.”
Farooki expressed optimism about his role, saying: “I hope that during my time here, I will be able to bring about some changes. If I can achieve that, I will feel that the purpose I came here for has been fulfilled.”
In addition to Farooki, two others were sworn in as advisers, businessman Sk Bashir Uddin and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Mahfuz Alam.
The oath-taking ceremony took place on Sunday evening at Bangabhaban.
President Mohammed Shahabuddin administered the oath, while Cabinet Secretary Sheikh Abdur Rashid presided over the event.
