Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman has said a final decision on 133 ordinances issued by the interim government will be taken by April 2 after review and scrutiny.
The ordinances will be placed before the National Parliament, with decisions to be made in line with the Constitution and public expectations, he said.
He made the remarks while responding to journalists after the first meeting of a special committee of the 13th National Assembly, held at the parliament’s cabinet room on Tuesday morning. The meeting began at 11am.
The minister said the committee is working by balancing constitutional provisions and public aspirations. The ordinances will be reviewed within 30 days and presented during the ongoing session of parliament.
Earlier, Asaduzzaman placed the 133 ordinances during the first session of the 13th National Assembly on March 12. Following his proposal, they were referred to a special committee for further examination.
Zainul Abedin is serving as chairman of the committee. Other members include Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed, Salahuddin Ahmed, Md Nurul Islam, Muhammad Osman Faruk, AM Mahbur Uddin, Abdul Bari, Muhammad Nowshad Zamir, Farzana Sharmin, Md Mujibur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam Khan and Gazi Md Nazrul Islam.
However, Mirza Abbas Uddin Ahmed could not attend the meeting as he is currently undergoing treatment in Singapore.
