A writ petition has been filed challenging the overall legality of the activities carried out during the tenure of the interim government led by Dr Muhammad Yunus.
The petition also questions the validity of various decisions taken during this period, including lawmaking, the formation of reform commissions, and both domestic and international agreements.
The writ was filed on Monday by Supreme Court senior lawyer Muhammad Mohsin Rashid with the relevant branch of the High Court.
The petition further seeks the formation of a commission to examine whether there are any allegations of corruption against former chief adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus.
Cabinet Secretary, Law Ministry Secretary, and other relevant officials have been made respondents in the writ.
Earlier, the same lawyer had filed another writ petition challenging the legality of the current government’s oath and formation process.
However, a High Court bench rejected that petition.
An appeal was later filed against the dismissal, and the Supreme Court subsequently ruled that the interim government was legal.
