The Public Service Commission (PSC) has recommended 2,204 people for appointment to different government jobs following the publication of the results of the 38th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS).
The list of the finalized candidates was published on the PSC website on Tuesday.
A PSC official said 613 of the 2,204 were recommended for the general cadre.
Meanwhile, 220 were recommended for assistant surgeons’ posts, 71 as dental surgeons, 532 for various technical cadres positions, and 768 for the education cadre.
PSC Chairman Mohammad Sadiq told Dhaka Tribune that the commission had worked tirelessly to publish the results during the pandemic but the process was delayed as offices were closed owing to the ongoing crisis.
As many as 389,468 candidates applied for the 38th BCS preliminary test, which was held on December 29, 2017.
The results of the preliminary examination were published on February 18, 2018, with 16,286 candidates qualifying in the examination.
The written test concluded on August 13, 2018. The results of the test were published on July 1, 2019, with 9,862 aspirants coming through.
