Candidates of the 47th BCS have been staging protests on the Dhaka–Aricha Highway, demanding the postponement of their written exam and reforms of the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The demonstration began on Tuesday around 1:00 pm when the candidates blocked the Aricha-bound lane near the university’s main gate.
Speaking to the media, the protesting students said the blockade would continue until the exam date is revised and the authorities make a fair decision.
They added that, despite widespread support for their legitimate demands, the PSC appears to be prioritizing certain vested interests, which they find unjust. The students further noted that, unlike previous BCS batches where candidates were given at least six months between the preliminary and written exams, the 47th BCS candidates were allowed only two months’ preparation before the written test.
