The investigation is ongoing

Update : 27 Oct 2026, 12:40 PM

A Dhaka court has imposed travel bans on Sanjay Das, recommended for the administration cadre, and Abu Saleh Md Musa, recommended for the foreign service cadre, in connection with a corruption case involving alleged fraud in the 38th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Shahjahan Kabir issued the orders on Tuesday following separate applications filed by the investigating officer.

Akhtarul Islam, public relations officer of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), confirmed the development.

The applications were filed by ACC Assistant Director Sajjad Hossain, the investigating officer in the case.

According to the applications, the accused allegedly used forged documents to secure government jobs for personal gain, misleading the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) about their eligibility.

As a result, Das was recommended for the administration cadre and Musa for the foreign service cadre through the 38th BCS examination.

A case was subsequently filed against them over allegations that they joined government service and drew salaries and allowances by misrepresenting their eligibility, causing financial losses to the government.

The investigation is ongoing.

The applications further stated that the accused might attempt to leave the country, making travel bans necessary to facilitate the investigation.
