Donald Lu, the US’s point person for South Asia, will travel from New Delhi to Dhaka to lead an interagency delegation focused on supporting Bangladesh's economic growth, financial stability, and development needs.
The State Department announced that Assistant Secretary of State Lu will visit India and Bangladesh from Tuesday to Monday.

During his stay, he will meet with Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, and various members of civil society.
This visit will be Lu’s first to Bangladesh following the formation of the interim government after Sheikh Hasina’s resignation as Prime Minister on August 5.
In Dhaka, Lu will be joined by an interagency delegation, including representatives from the US Department of the Treasury, USAID, and the Office of the US Trade Representative.
They will engage with the Bangladeshi interim government to discuss ways the United States can support Bangladesh’s economic and developmental goals.
Throughout his trip, Lu will emphasize the US’s commitment to supporting economic growth and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
In India, he will promote US-India cooperation on development, security, and women's economic empowerment at the India Ideas Summit, hosted by the US-India Business Council.
