Youth Worldwide Foundation (YWF), in collaboration with its youth wing, Youth’s Voice (YV), continues its mission to break the stigma surrounding menstrual hygiene through innovative programs.
The latest in these efforts is the "Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM)" training program, which held its first training session on Monday at the Speakers' Council in Chittagong.
This session brought together enthusiastic male and female participants, now certified as MHM trainers. YWF has been committed to challenging the stigma surrounding menstruation since the inception of its MHM Campaign in 2015, and with over 150 workshops and campaigns conducted, the organization is making strides toward creating a more informed and inclusive community.
This year’s Training the Trainers Initiative marks a significant leap forward in scaling awareness by empowering passionate youth as MHM trainers. This initiative adopts a train-the-trainers model, equipping youth with the skills and confidence to lead their own MHM awareness campaigns in collaboration with YWF.

This year, the organization also introduced another groundbreaking initiative under its Menstrual Health Innovation Challenge: the Sustainability Championship, held in July-August. Participants formed teams and created videos highlighting reusable and sustainable menstrual hygiene management practices.
The competition not only sparked meaningful discussions but also significantly increased the online presence of menstrual hygiene content on social media platforms.
Bangladesh continues to face significant challenges in menstrual hygiene management, with 40%-50% of the population lacking proper knowledge and resources. Poverty, cultural taboos, and limited education remain key obstacles.
