Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina read Anisul Hoque’s book titled “Alo Adharer Jatri,” and was pleasantly surprised at how much Anisul Hoque knew about her life and her family.
The author himself revealed the information during an interview with Bangla Tribune at their office in Dhaka on Thursday.
Anisul Hoque, renowned author, screenwriter, novelist, dramatist and journalist, was present at the show to talk about his recently published book “Ei Pothe Alo Jele”—the fourth in the series.
The author said: “During a meeting, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said she had read my book and was surprised at how it contained details about her family and herself. The PM’s younger sister Sheikh Rehana told me this.”
Sheikh Rehana personally congratulated the author on his book and inspired him to keep up his fictional writing, he added.
“When we talk about our independence, we talk about the Language Movement in 1952, Mass Uprising in 1969, Bangabandhu’s historic speech on March 7 and the nine month long Liberation War. However, there are other important historic events leading up to our independence.”
“In February 1948, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had led the first Language Movement. Dhirendranath Dutta first demanded Bangla to be the state language in Pakistan’s constituent assembly, as majority of the East Bengal was Bangali. What followed was an uprising among the Dhaka University students, after the demand was refuted,” he added.
Regarding the theme of “Ei Pothe Alo Jele,” he said: “This book prioritizes the common people’s struggle for Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s unconditional bail in 1971.”
Apart from this, the readers will also read about Shahid Matiur Rahman and Shahid Asad and their contributions.
He also mentioned the fifth and final release of the series which will glorify Bangladesh’s emergence.
Regarding the series he said that history is based on facts and often “dry” and lacks insight into the life of a common man.
“It does not reflect the common people and their dreams and aspirations; this series aims to portray such people,” he added.
