Following the Awami League’s vision to turn the country into “Smart Bangladesh”, Dhaka-17 lawmaker Mohammad Arafat has virtually completed the necessary formalities to contest the 12th National Parliamentary Election.
On Sunday, he collected and submitted his party form through an online channel with a digital fund transaction, following the guidelines set by Awami League.
This is the first time Awami League has taken this initiative to collect and submit party nomination forms through online apps and websites to bolster the theme of digital Bangladesh.
According to a circular released by Awami League, an app called Smart Nomination App has been launched by Awami League. The app has to be downloaded and installed from the Google Play Store or iOS App Store to collect the party form digitally.
Apart from this, the nomination form can also be filled out and submitted online from the nomination.albd.org website.
To fill out and submit the form online, a candidate must register first by entering the app or website.
After logging in, candidates can electronically pay Tk50,000 as required and then proceed to fill out and submit the nomination form.
The ruling party Awami League has been selling party nomination forms amid festivity at its central party office since Saturday.
More than thousands of forms were sold out on the first day of the nomination form distribution, and the second day of form collection is ongoing. Thousands of activists and party workers are gathering every day at the party office on the occasion of nomination form collection and submission.
