The leaders of the quota reform movement on Monday submitted a proposal to Awami League, BNP and Jatiya Oikya Front regarding the 11th general election.

“We have handed over a proposal titled ‘Youth Manifesto’ containing five demands to the respective offices of the BNP, Awami League and the Jatiya Oikya Front,” said Nurul Haque Nur, joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad.

Their demands include logical rectification of the quota system in third and fourth class government jobs, introduction of a private employment law, information technology-based modern recruitment test method, free of cost job application process and implementation of a strict law to stop commercialization of education.

The demands were announced through a program held at the Muzaffar Ahmed Chowdhury Auditorium in Dhaka University’s Social Science Faculty on Monday.

A 23-member delegation of the student platform, led by Rashed Khan, submitted the Youth Manifesto to Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader at the party chief’s political office in Dhanmondi.

Nur also said that the platform’s Joint Convener Faruk Hasan led another 18-member delegation to submit the proposal to BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at the party’s Naya Paltan headquarters.

“Our manifesto also handed over to Oikya Front leader Dr Kamal Hossain. We will submit it to other political parties too,” he added.
