Krishak Sramik Janata League President Abdul Kader Siddique, Bir Bikram and his daughter Kuri Siddique have submitted their nomination forms for the Tangail 8 constituency.
Both father and daughter submitted their nomination forms together at the Sakhipur upazila UNO and Assistant Returning Officer Aminur Rahman’s office on Wednesday afternoon, the last day of the submission of nomination forms for the 11th general election.
At the time Kader, also a major ally of the Jatiya Oikya Front said: “Due to some unwanted issues with my documents, my daughter has submitted her nomination form as well. I have paid back a lot of money of my loans to the bank. But as long as this government is in power, my contesting the polls remains uncertain.”
“If the government for any reason forcefully cancels my nomination, which they can, then my daughter will contest as the Oikya Front candidate,” he added.
Kader also said: “This election is the one to bring back democracy, rule of law and voting rights of the people. I hope this will be a free and fair election. No matter how hard the government is trying to win, they will not succeed.”

Taingail District Awami League General Secretary Adv Jawaherul Islam, Jatiya Party (JaPa) Central Committee Joint Secretary Kazi Ashraf Siddique and JaPa Central Committee NGO affairs Secretary Razaul Karim; Islami Andolan Bangladesh Upazila Committee President Maulana Abdul Latif Miah and independent candidate Liakat Ali, have also submitted nomination forms.
On November 8, Chief Election Commissioner KH Nurul Huda announced the 11th general election schedule to be held on December 23, but was later postponed to take place on December 30.
